LTTwo foreign nationals in Lithuania are facing charges of large-scale drug smuggling and illegal possession of narcotics with intent to distribute. The case was initiated in September 2025 after a parcel distribution employee in Vilnius discovered a hidden compartment in a shipment, leading to a police investigation. The defendants allegedly used specialized equipment to impregnate A4 paper with psychotropic substances and concealed them in shipping boxes to evade customs controls. Police found 1.78 kilograms of various psychotropic substances during a search of the suspects' rented apartment. Both individuals are currently in custody and could face up to 18 years in prison for smuggling and up to 15 years for possession with intent to distribute.
