TVE prepares a new season with changes in its main warehouses

Televisión Española (TVE) is set to unveil major changes in its flagship programs ahead of the new television season. The most notable shift involves Gonzalo Miró, currently the host of Directo al Grano, who will take over as co-presenter of Malas Lenguas starting in September. This move was announced this week and marks a significant reshuffling within TVE's lineup. Miró will lead both segments of Malas Lenguas, which airs on La 2 from 17:45 to 19:35 and on La 1 from 19:35 to 20:25. He will be joined by Esther Palomera during the La 2 segment, a change that has already been highlighted by Poco Pasa TV. Palomera, a journalist and political analyst, had previously participated in the program’s panel discussions but will now co-host alongside Miró beginning in September. Miró’s transition to Malas Lenguas comes after his scheduled debut as host on August 3, according to reports. His role will temporarily replace Jesús Cintora, who will be on summer vacation, with Miró and Ane Ibarzabal taking over until Cintora returns. RTVE stated that this decision reflects its commitment to maintaining one of its key formats by featuring a presenter with high visibility in Spanish television. Meanwhile, Directo al Grano will see a different pairing this summer, with Marta Flich joining forces with Martín Barreiro. It remains unclear whether both will continue beyond the summer months once Miró moves to Malas Lenguas. In addition to Miró’s move, there are indications that other changes could follow. Javier Ruiz, the current host of Mañaneros on La 1, has not officially confirmed his departure from RTVE to become the first director of La Séptima, a new TDT channel launching in November. However, José Miguel Contreras, founder of La Sexta and the upcoming La Séptima, has described the possibility as nearly certain. In an interview with EFE, Contreras noted that Ruiz had initially joined RTVE with the intention of returning to La Séptima if the project materialized. Now, Ruiz faces a formal offer to lead the new network. If Ruiz accepts the position, Jesús Cintora is being considered as a potential successor to Ruiz at Mañaneros. Cintora would then manage both Mañaneros and the Saturday edition of Malas Lenguas, which airs on La 2 in the late-night slot. This would represent another layer of integration between TVE’s programming and the new network. The anticipated movement of personnel has already triggered adjustments in TVE’s schedule. While specific details about future programming have yet to be finalized, industry insiders suggest that these changes reflect broader strategic planning by RTVE.
