Türkiye has introduced its 'National Green Finance Strategy and Action Plan' for 2026–2029, designed to establish a comprehensive framework for green finance and support the country's shift toward a sustainable economy. The strategy was officially published in the Official Gazette with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's endorsement. It was developed by the Treasury and Finance Ministry in collaboration with various ministries, financial regulators, and private-sector stakeholders. The plan includes 11 objectives and 45 actions aimed at building a transparent green finance ecosystem, enhancing institutional capacity in green finance, and creating market mechanisms to promote sustainable development. As the host of COP31, Türkiye plans to leverage the conference to highlight its green finance initiatives and reinforce its global commitment to addressing climate change.
