TRTürkiye has completed the restoration of the ancient Tlos theater in Muğla province, using original stones identified at the site. The theater, part of the Lycian civilization and listed on UNESCO’s World Heritage Tentative List, has been illuminated with a solar energy system installed under the coordination of the Muğla Governorship. According to Muğla Governor Idris Akbıyık, the restoration aims to enhance year-round tourism in the region by promoting cultural and health tourism beyond the traditional beach-based model. The governor highlighted that the project uses green energy and emphasizes sustainability, contributing to both cultural preservation and economic development. Last year, over 1.3 million visitors explored Muğla’s archaeological sites, and Tlos is expected to significantly increase this number.
