Despite the problems in China, Mercedes' profits continue to rise

Mercedes-Benz reported a 13.5 percent increase in profit for the second quarter of this year, reaching approximately 1.09 billion euros compared to 957 million euros in the same period last year. However, weak sales in China contributed to a significant decline in the passenger car division’s performance, with a 30 percent drop in vehicle sales there. The company attributed improved efficiency and cost-cutting measures to the overall profit growth, while results from the vans and financial services divisions helped offset losses. Despite these challenges, the company’s total revenue slightly decreased by 3.3 percent to over 32 billion euros.
