The State Electoral Institute of Hidalgo, Mexico, revoked the registration of the local political party Espacio Hidalgo due to insufficient membership numbers. The party failed to meet the legal requirement of having at least 6,212 valid members, which represents 0.26% of the voter registry used in the previous election. As of March this year, Espacio Hidalgo only had 5,755 valid affiliations out of a total registry of 2 million 389 thousand 81 people. Following the verification process, the institute notified the party of the decision, giving them the opportunity to appeal or provide additional documentation. After reviewing their response, the authorities concluded that the party did not meet the necessary criteria. Consequently, Espacio Hidalgo lost its rights and privileges as a registered political party and entered a dissolution process, during which an intervener will be appointed to manage its assets.
