Toyota has introduced its updated Yaris Cross, maintaining the model’s core design while focusing on refined improvements that enhance both aesthetics and user experience. The new version retains the proven hybrid powertrain and overall structure but introduces subtle changes aimed at increasing appeal without altering the fundamental formula that made the Yaris Cross one of Toyota's most successful models in Europe. According to Toyota, the updates reflect a strategic decision to build upon existing strengths rather than making radical overhauls. This approach ensures continuity for customers who have already embraced the model's practicality, efficiency, and compact size. The Yaris Cross has become Toyota’s best-selling model in Europe, achieving significant success since its introduction in 2021. In just one year, it reached approximately 200,000 units sold across the continent, securing an 11 percent share of the B-SUV segment. It also accounts for about 16 percent of Toyota’s total European sales, marking it as the brand’s top-selling SUV in the region. Additionally, the Yaris Cross ranks sixth among all vehicles sold in Europe, underscoring its broad appeal. These figures highlight the model’s strong market position and the effectiveness of its design and features. Toyota emphasizes that the Yaris Cross was developed with a clear understanding of European consumer preferences. The vehicle combines compact dimensions, ideal for urban driving and parking, with sufficient interior space and versatility for family needs, leisure activities, and longer trips. The production of the Yaris Cross is set to reach a major milestone this year, with the French factory expected to produce the millionth unit by October. This marks a significant achievement for a model primarily designed for the European market. Italy remains the largest recipient of these vehicles, accounting for around 18 percent of total sales, followed by France with approximately 16 percent. Other European markets also show strong interest in the Yaris Cross, reinforcing its status as a preferred choice among buyers seeking a balance between practicality, efficiency, and comfort. The updated Yaris Cross continues to offer the hybrid 130 powertrain as its central option, which delivers 95 kilowatts (130 horsepower) and 185 Newton-meters of torque. This setup allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 10.7 seconds, making it one of the most efficient conventional hybrids in its class. Emissions range between 99 and 115 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer, while fuel consumption falls within 4.4 to 5.1 liters per 100 kilometers. Although a slightly less powerful 115-horsepower hybrid variant will remain available for now, it is expected to be phased out in Slovenia within a few months, where the new Yaris Cross will arrive early in the autumn. Toyota maintains its commitment to offering four-wheel drive options in the B-SUV segment, a feature that sets it apart from many competitors. This capability enhances the vehicle’s versatility, particularly in regions with challenging terrain such as Slovenia. By retaining this feature, Toyota reinforces the Yaris Cross’s adaptability to diverse driving conditions, further supporting its appeal to a wide range of consumers.
