A serious traffic accident occurred on the A1 motorway between Prist and Vodice, Croatia, when a 22-year-old Italian citizen was severely injured. According to police reports, the driver of the Italian-registered car, a 21-year-old Italian man, veered into the emergency lane. There, his vehicle collided with a Czech-registered car that had broken down and was properly marked in the emergency lane. The Czech driver, a 38-year-old Czech citizen, was outside the car at the time of the collision. The impact pushed the Czech car onto the safety barrier, while the Italian car rolled onto its side. Two passengers from the Italian car were taken to the hospital in Šibenik. The 22-year-old passenger suffered life-threatening injuries, while the condition of the other 21-year-old passenger has yet to be determined. Police are investigating whether the accident was caused by reckless driving.
