Syrian, Turkish armies complete floating bridge over Euphrates

Turkish and Syrian military forces have completed the construction of a floating bridge spanning the Euphrates River in eastern Syria, according to statements made by both nations' diplomatic representatives. The bridge, which connects the two riverbanks, was finalized on August 30, Türkiye’s Victory Day, marking a symbolic date for the collaboration between the two countries. The project was carried out jointly by the Turkish Armed Forces and the Syrian Arab Army, replacing a previous structure damaged by flooding. The completion of the bridge follows a similar joint infrastructure initiative between the two nations, with this being the second such project undertaken by their militaries. Türkiye’s ambassador to Damascus, Nuh Yılmaz, confirmed the achievement via a post on the social media platform X. He emphasized that the effort reflected the shared commitment of both sides to fostering stability and cooperation in the region. Yılmaz highlighted the significance of the day, noting that it aligned with Türkiye’s national celebrations and underscored the deepening partnership between the two countries.
