Suspect in bombing that hurt sanctioned Jewish Ukrainian-born oligarch found dead

A woman suspected of carrying out a bomb attack in Monaco that seriously injured a Ukrainian-born Jewish businessman has been found dead in Ukraine, and a military intelligence officer has been arrested in connection with her murder, authorities said. Anastasiia Berezovska, a Ukrainian citizen wanted by Interpol for the June 29 bombing, was found with gunshot wounds to the head and pistol cartridges nearby. Two men, including a military intelligence officer and a former police officer, were detained on suspicion of killing her. They had communicated with Berezovska after she returned to Ukraine and made repeated financial transfers to her accounts. The HUR employee confessed to killing Berezovska and acting independently. During a search of the former police officer's home, a basement resembling a torture chamber was discovered. The victim of the Monaco bombing, Vadym Yermolaiev, a Ukrainian-born property developer sanctioned by Ukraine in 2023, along with his partner and son, were injured in the attack.
