Specialist programme by day: Monday at the Agra Fair

On Monday at the Agra Fair, a series of expert-led programs and workshops took place, offering insights into agricultural practices, sustainability, and food security. The day began with a horse exhibition and riding demonstration at Maneža, organized by recognized tour agencies in collaboration with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Ljubljana. From 10:00 to 10:00 ET, attendees gathered at the ETRI connection point (kozolec) at the Permakultural Center of the Pomurski Sejm for a lecture titled “Agrobiodiversity, Diversity That Preserves the Future: From Local Varieties and Breeds to Resilient Food Systems,” hosted by the ETRI group. At 10:00, the Dvorana 4 venue hosted a session focused on reducing waste and food scraps, organized by the Slovenian Farmers' Association. Concurrently, in Dvorana 3, the Meet4Business AGRA 2026 event commenced, organized by the Regional Development Agency for the Drava Valley, Maribor. Later, from 10:00 to 12:30, the Dvorana 1 space was occupied by a presentation on the path to a fair food supply chain, coordinated by the Ministry of Agriculture, the Agency for Relations in the Supply Chain for Food, and the Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Consumer Protection. In Dvorana 5, a veterinary meeting took place, organized jointly by the Agency for Safe Food, Veterinary Affairs, and Plant Protection, the Veterinary Association, and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. At Maneža, from 10:00 to 13:00, livestock evaluation with expert commentary and award distribution occurred, again under the organization of the Slovenian Farmers' Association. In the premises before the administration, awards were presented by the Union of Associations of Slovenia. At the Permakultural Center of the Pomurski Sejm’s Straw House, from 10:00 to 16:00, a seed exchange, knowledge sharing, and practical experience session was held, organized by the EKOCI association and TD Klopotec from Upper Velika. A demonstration of safe operation with a chainsaw took place at the Demonstration Area from 10:30 to 11:30, organized by the Slovenian Forest Institute. Another lecture, “Chickens as a Key Pillar of Self-Sufficiency or Domestic Pets: How Many and Which to Choose?” was delivered at the same location from 10:30 to 12:00, organized by the Society of Small Breed Animal Keepers of Gornja Radgona and EKOCI. From 11:00 to 11:30, the Dvorana 4 venue hosted a session titled “From Living Soil to Vital Health,” organized by the Slovenian Biodynamics Association and the Slovenian Farmers' Association. Meanwhile, in Hall A, the OTP exhibition space featured the Conditus brand, showcasing premium confections that enhance everyday life and special moments, organized by OTP. Also at Dvorana 4, the Slovenian Herb Growers’ Association presented the Zeliščni Forum Republic of Slovenia 2026, while the Dvorana 4 venue also hosted a discussion on invasive alien plants on farmland, organized by the Slovenian Farmers' Association. At 12:30, the Dvorana 3 venue saw the presentation of the completed project CRP: “Content of Vitamins and Residuals of FFS in Fruit and Vegetables,” organized by the Ministry of Agriculture. From 13:00 to 14:00, the Permakultural Center of the Pomurski Sejm's FKBV Garden hosted an assessment of soil balance in different zones, exploring how farmers can improve their fields in light of climate change, organized by the Faculty of Agriculture and Biosystems Sciences at the University of Ljubljana, the Consortium for Ecological Farming, and the Association of Eco-Farmers of Slovenia. Later, from 13:00 to 15:00, a workshop on the Digital Twin of Slovenia, First Overview was conducted in Dvorana 2, organized by the Ministry of Economy, Employment, and Sport, along with the Slovenian Space Observatory. In Dvorana 1, a meeting between the SIP and business partners took place. Finally, in Dvorana 5, bilateral business meetings continued, organized by the Regional Development Agency for the Drava Valley, Maribor.
