Ukrainska Pravda reports that a Ukrainian National Guard soldier has been charged with collaborating with Russian occupiers while in captivity, providing false information about Ukrainian prisoners of war, and facilitating their torture. The accused, who was held in Russia from September 2022 to November 2024, allegedly gave details about the head of medical services of 'Aзов' unit, leading to his death after systematic physical abuse. The individual also reportedly agreed to join the Wagner Private Military Company (PMC) and serve in Russian armed forces against Ukraine. Although he was returned to Ukraine in 2024 and underwent rehabilitation, further investigations led to charges under Ukrainian criminal law, including attempted collaboration with enemy forces and mistreatment of fellow prisoners of war.
Bias read (Left): The article frames the accused’s actions as treasonous and collaborator behavior, using strong language such as 'spriyav katuvannya' (facilitated torture), 'dodavat informatsiyu pro ukraïnskiy vіy`skovopolonenykh' (provided information about Ukrainian prisoners of war), and 'vstupit do P VK 'Vagner'
