As of Monday, flights between Tehran and Dubai resumed.

Flights between Tehran and Dubai have resumed starting Monday after several weeks of suspension due to the war in the Middle East and Iranian attacks in the Gulf, according to Iranian media reports cited by AFP via BTA. The resumption aims to strengthen air connections on heavily trafficked routes, requiring measures to reopen the Tehran-Dubai route from Imam Khomeini International Airport, stated the airport director Ramin Kashfazadeh, citing state television and local media. Tickets for a flight departing at 10:40 AM local time were already available on the website of Iran Air. During the conflict, which lasted from February 28 to April 8, Dubai International Airport, along with U.S. military facilities and civilian infrastructure in Gulf countries from Kuwait to Oman, was repeatedly targeted by drone attacks. Iran claimed these strikes were in response to the U.S.-Israeli military offensive launched against its territory on February 28. Dubai Airport, previously the second busiest globally after Atlanta, saw a 66% drop in traffic in March compared to the same period last year. The disruption caused chaos in global air travel.

A prominent Iranian academic and critic of the government, Sadeq Zibakalam, has been found guilty of spreading false information on social media, according to reports from Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency, as cited by DPA. The final charges and potential sentencing will be announced shortly, said a court spokesperson. Zibakalam, who is 78 years old, has long criticized Iran’s strict Islamic system and has faced multiple accusations and convictions over the years. He was recently detained on June 10 for violating court-imposed conditions and was accused of disregarding a judicial ban on online activity.

The issue of social media is particularly sensitive in Iran, where public attention on these platforms far exceeds that given to traditional press outlets. According to the statement, Zibakalam also gave an interview to a television journalist living abroad, who is banned in Iran. This incident comes amid heightened tensions following the war with the United States and Israel, which began late February. Since then, Iran’s judiciary has intensified its actions against critics of the regime within the country. Many individuals have been arrested, detained, and even executed on charges of spying for the wartime enemies, the US and Israel. Despite international criticism, the judiciary continues to follow this course, noted DPA.

In recent weeks, new measures have been introduced, including the seizure of assets belonging to opponents of the regime both domestically and internationally. Videos of protests held abroad are being analyzed, and suspected leaders are being identified. Their bank accounts, real estate, and other financial resources are being confiscated. These actions reflect a broader crackdown aimed at suppressing dissent and maintaining control over the narrative surrounding the ongoing conflict.

Meanwhile, air travel between Tehran and Dubai is set to resume tomorrow after several weeks of suspension due to the war in the Middle East and Iran’s attacks in the Gulf, according to Iranian media reports. Director of Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport, Ramin Kashfazar, stated that necessary measures must be taken to reopen the Tehran-Dubai route to strengthen air links on these heavily trafficked routes. Evening flights were already available for purchase on the website of Iran’s Sepahan Airlines, with a flight scheduled to depart at 10:40 AM local time tomorrow.

During the war in the Middle East, from February 28 until the ceasefire took effect on April 8, Dubai International Airport, along with American military facilities in the Gulf and civilian infrastructure in Gulf kingdoms ranging from Kuwait to Oman, became targets of several drone attacks. Iran declared these strikes as retaliation for the American-Israeli military offensive launched on February 28 against its territory.

Dubai International Airport, which previously ranked second in global passenger traffic behind Atlanta, USA, experienced a 66 percent drop in traffic in March compared to the same month last year. Airports in the Gulf, such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Doha, built their business models around transferring passengers, capitalizing on their strategic location at the crossroads of routes connecting America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania. The actual halt of these airports during the first weeks of the conflict caused chaos in global air transport.

Biden's son: I nominate Trump for the Nobel, he stopped the war with Iran at least 38 times

Trump: Iran asked for a meeting, it's going to be held in Doha

Flights between Tehran and Dubai will be resumed tomorrow, Iranian media reported.
