The Plovdiv Literary Festival started with the award of the Orpheus crown and the Golden Brush.

The Plovdiv Reads Literary Festival began with the awarding of the 'Orphean Crown' and 'Golden Brush' awards at the Orfeus Summer Cinema in Plovdiv. The 'Orphean Crown' was awarded to writer Georgi Gospodinov for his contribution to contemporary Bulgarian poetry. The award was established in 2006 by three Plovdiv publishers. The 'Golden Brush' award for best book design went to artist Yassen Grigorov. Past recipients of these awards were mentioned.
