New chapter of the Archangel

The Macedonian music scene is set to witness a significant event as the band Archangel prepares to unveil a new chapter in their artistic journey. On June 13, the group will hold a concert titled "Srcevin" ("Heart") at the ARM Stadium in Skopje, marking a pivotal moment in their career. This event is not just a performance but a celebration of over four decades of creative output and a glimpse into the future with new compositions that will form part of an upcoming album.

At a press conference, Risto Vrtov, the frontman and lyricist of Archangel, emphasized that "Srcevin" represents both a culmination of their authorial work and an opening to new possibilities. The lead single from the upcoming album, "Days of Lead," was premiered during the press conference. The accompanying video for "Days of Lead" was created by Ivо Antonov, who spoke about the creative process behind the visual concept. He noted that the video follows the emotional and poetic structure of the song while incorporating modern visual expressions.

Cvetka Spasova, executive director of Adriatica Records and organizer of the concert, explained that the event, along with the recording of live material and preparation of the new album, forms part of a broader project under the label. Her comments underscore the significance of this phase in Archangel's career and the collaborative effort required to bring it to fruition.

Vasil Hadzhimanov, a renowned pianist and composer, expressed his excitement about participating as a special guest at the concert. In his video message, he praised Archangel for their distinctive authorial expression and the enduring resonance of their music with audiences. The production of "Days of Lead" took place at the Skopje-based studio "Clinic Sound," helmed by Nino Spirkoski. The sound design was handled by Marco Milicevic, known professionally as Gramophonedzie. These technical aspects reflect the high standards maintained in the creation of the band's new material.

Archangel's lineup consists of Risto Vrtov on vocals and lyrics, Aleksandar Vanchkovski, Dejan Mitrovic on bass, Ivan Petrovski on guitar, and Filip Dimishkovski on keyboards. Their combined talents ensure a rich and dynamic musical experience that has defined their presence on stage for years.
