The murder of a woman in Skopje: reported missing, arrested for murder

On June 26, 2026, a man identified as S.G., aged 51 and residing in Skopje’s Taor neighborhood, reported to the police station that his wife, J.G., 48 years old, had left their home. He stated they lived together in the same house. The following day, he informed the police that he found the body of J.G. near the village of Letevci, located in the Skopje area. Upon arrival at the scene, police officers and representatives from the Public Prosecutor’s Office conducted an initial assessment. Due to the advanced state of decomposition of the body, it was transferred to forensic medicine for an official autopsy, as mandated by the Public Prosecutor. During this process, S.G. was questioned and subsequently placed under arrest. In addition, three other individuals—Z.M., G.B., and M.D.—were also detained in connection with the case.

According to further information released by the Ministry of Interior, the investigation is being carried out in coordination with the Public Prosecutor’s Office to ensure a complete understanding of the events. The police have indicated that they will continue working alongside legal authorities to gather evidence and establish the full context of the crime.
