Starlink attack in Bulgaria: German suspects

Ten days after a fire attack on Starlink antennas in Bulgaria, a European arrest warrant has been issued against two German suspects. The Sofia City Court approved the request from the prosecutor's office, according to a court spokeswoman. According to the indictment, the two 19-year-old suspects allegedly set fire to eight Starlink antennas south of Sofia on October 9, as reported by the Bulgarian news agency BTA. They face prison sentences of three to twelve years. Their lawyers intend to challenge the decision of the Sofia City Court. The head of Bulgaria's domestic intelligence service, DANS, Plamen Tontschew, believes the fire at the Starlink facility in Sofia was an act of sabotage and warned that such acts could happen again in the future. Earlier, a fire broke out at a Starlink ground station south of Warsaw on September 23. Last week, two suspected saboteurs were arrested in Nuertingen, near Stuttgart, who are believed to have carried out the attack. The Polish government suspects Russian intelligence agencies behind the attack. The Starlink satellite network is a strategically important part of Ukraine's defense against Russia's invasion.

Attack on Starlink equipment: Lithuania steps up protection of critical infrastructure

Following a failed arson attack on Starlink equipment in Lithuania, the country has increased physical and technical security measures at critical infrastructure sites. According to Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevicius, over 15 facilities will see enhanced protections after a meeting of the National Security Council in Vilnius. Critical infrastructure includes sectors like energy, information technology, transportation, and communication, whose disruption could lead to severe consequences. The attack occurred at a facility storing Starlink equipment, which Lithuania believes was orchestrated by Russia. The incident involved flammable liquids and Molotov cocktails, but a guard detected the fire early, preventing significant damage. Similar attacks on Starlink installations have been reported in Poland and Bulgaria, highlighting the strategic importance of the satellite network in Ukraine’s defense against Russia.

Bias read (Center): The article reports on Lithuania's response to a suspected Russian sabotage attempt targeting Starlink infrastructure, which is directly tied to geopolitical tensions involving Russia and Ukraine. However, the framing remains neutral, presenting facts without overtly favoring any side. It cites theL
