Prima increased its operating profit to CZK 1.8 billion last year, and the group's sales also increased.

The media group Prima, which includes 15 companies such as the television network of the same name, reported an operating profit (EBITDA) of 1.8 billion Czech crowns last year, representing a five percent improvement compared to the previous year. The group's revenue also rose to nearly 7.2 billion Czech crowns, with television stations being the dominant source of income. The results were announced in a Thursday press release sent to ČTK. The general manager, Lukáš Kubát, described exceeding the seven-billion-crown revenue threshold as a significant milestone and emphasized continuing development across all parts of the group. Two-thirds of the group's revenues came from television stations, while radio stations managed by Media Club contributed almost a billion crowns. Online projects and digital platforms generated around 600 million crowns in revenue, and other services also showed growth. The media group Prima has announced its financial results for last year, revealing a significant increase in operating profit and revenue. According to the company's press release sent to Czech News Agency (ČTK), Prima, which includes 15 companies such as the namesake television channel, achieved an operating profit (EBITDA) of 1.8 billion Czech crowns. This represents a roughly five percent improvement compared to the previous year. The group’s consolidated revenues also rose to nearly 7.2 billion crowns, growing at the same rate. Television stations were the primary source of income for the group, contributing two-thirds of all revenue. Radio stations represented by Media Club accounted for almost one billion crowns in revenue. Additionally, the company noted growth in online projects and digital platforms, which generated approximately 600 million crowns in revenue last year. Other services offered by the group also saw similar increases in revenue.

Prima emphasized that exceeding the seven-billion-crown threshold in consolidated revenues marks a significant milestone and serves as a commitment to continue developing all parts of the group. General Manager of the Prima Group, Lukáš Kubát, highlighted this achievement in his statement. The company has identified the development of digital projects as one of its main strategic goals for this year. To support this initiative, Prima established a separate streaming division this year, which oversees further development of the platform "prima+" and other digital products within the group.

Prima operates 13 nationwide television channels (FTV Prima), six radio stations (Radio United Broadcasting), and dozens of web portals. The commercial representation of Media Club handles advertising sales for 317 media outlets, including its own, across television, radio, the internet, and printed publications. In the world of e-sports and gaming, the group operates through PLAYzone. Communication services for clients are provided by Media Booster.

In addition to Prima, the TV Nova Group also presented its financial results for last year. According to their announcement, the group increased its net profit by 58 percent to 1.88 billion crowns and raised its revenues by 28 percent to 11.65 billion crowns. These figures reflect strong performance across multiple sectors of the media industry in the Czech Republic.

Meanwhile, ŠKODA JS a.s., a leading European manufacturer and supplier of equipment for nuclear energy, reported lower operating profits last year. The company had an operating profit (EBITDA) of 115 million crowns, down from 361 million crowns in 2024. This decline was attributed to investments in new machinery and expenses related to renting and purchasing new production spaces previously used by calenders. Last year's revenues decreased by nearly eight percent, primarily due to the prolonged duration of orders and their invoicing, according to spokesperson Karel Samec.

Despite these challenges, ŠKODA JS signed new contracts worth 3.5 billion crowns, surpassing its planned targets by 150 million crowns. The company views the past year as another successful one. ŠKODA JS exported more than a third of its production last year mainly to Slovakia, Ukraine, Armenia, Hungary, Britain, and Poland. It is currently working on completing the fourth block of the Mochovce Nuclear Power Plant in Slovakia alongside other Czech firms. Deliveries of replacement parts to Ukraine helped maintain the operation of Ukrainian nuclear power plants, thus supporting the stability of the energy grid affected by the war with Russia.

This year, ŠKODA JS began cooperation with British company Rolls-Royce SMR, becoming a strategic supplier of major components for small modular reactors (SMR). The company will supply parts not only for the Czech Republic but also internationally. Rolls-Royce SMR, in which CEZ has held a fifth share since last year, plans to build the first three small reactors in Wales. CEZ and Rolls-Royce SMR aim to construct modular reactors with a combined capacity of three gigawatts in the Czech Republic by 2050.

ŠKODA JS, celebrating 70 years since its founding, continues negotiations with preferred bidder KHNP, a South Korean group, regarding the construction of a new nuclear block at the Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant. The company also delivered the first container of a new generation for spent nuclear fuel to Temelín. As the first manufacturing company from Central and Eastern Europe, ŠKODA JS obtained American nuclear industry certifications ASME.

ŠKODA JS, which focuses not only on production but also on engineering and servicing nuclear power plants, is involved in the reconstruction of Ukraine's energy infrastructure. The company's leadership discussed this topic with Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) during a conference in Gdansk, Poland, last week. The general manager stated that the company has been helping to keep Ukrainian nuclear power plants operational through deliveries of replacement parts, which is crucial for maintaining electricity supplies.

ŠKODA JS a.s. had an operating profit EBITDA of CZK 115 million last year, down year on year
