The article discusses the current state of quality systems in Slovenia's healthcare sector, highlighting that while data on quality, safety, and patient satisfaction is collected, it is often not used effectively for improvements. The first report by the Agency for Quality in Healthcare reveals that only half of the healthcare providers submitted required reports. Issues include inconsistent hygiene practices, lack of trained observers in nursing homes, and insufficient linkage between data collection and meaningful action. While many institutions have quality strategies and structures in place, there remains a gap between documentation and practical application. The agency plans to establish a unified set of indicators and provide methodological support for their proper use in future.
