In Les Gets, France, Sina Frei secured her third victory of the Short Track season, continuing her dominance in the discipline with a commanding win over Swedish rival Jenny Rissveds. The race took place during the penultimate World Cup event of the season, with Frei finishing ahead of Rissveds and American Savilla Blunk. This result further solidified her lead in the discipline standings, increasing her advantage over Rissveds to 80 points. Two more races remain in this category before the season concludes. Frei led a trio of top contenders throughout the race, maintaining a steady pace until the final lap. Rissveds and Blunk trailed behind, but Frei’s relentless speed proved insurmountable. As the seventh lap began, the gap between Frei and her rivals widened significantly. By the end of the race, Frei had built up a six-second lead over Rissveds and Blunk, crossing the finish line to the cheers of the crowd. This triumph marks Frei's third success in the Short Track series after victories in Yongpyong and Leogang earlier this year. The Swiss contingent performed strongly across multiple positions. In addition to Frei, four other Swiss women finished within the top ten. Nicole Koller came close to claiming a podium spot, finishing fourth just five seconds behind Frei. Alessandra Keller placed sixth, while Ronja Blöchlinger and Ginia Caluori rounded out the top ten. Jolanda Neff, the 2021 Olympic champion, started strong but fell back during the fourth lap, ultimately finishing 15th. On the men’s side, French rider Adrien Boichis claimed victory in his home country, edging out compatriot Luca Martin and German David List. Boichis, who has already secured three wins in the Short Track series this season, showcased his strength in the final stretch of the race. List, making history with his first World Cup podium, finished third, marking a notable achievement in his career. Other Swiss competitors, including Mathias Flückiger and Vital Albin, also managed to secure placements among the top ten. The day’s competition saw a strong showing from the Swiss team, both in terms of individual performances and overall representation. While Frei dominated the spotlight, the broader participation of Swiss athletes underscored their competitive presence in the sport.
