Scooter does not stop at alt, man dies after chase: in 2012 he killed Pescara fan

A tragic incident unfolded late one evening along the coastal roads between Città Sant'Angelo and Silvi, two towns located in the provinces of Pescara and Teramo respectively. The event resulted in the death of Massimo Ciarelli, a 43-year-old man who had been under legal scrutiny for a violent crime committed nearly a decade earlier. He shot Rigante in the buttocks, resulting in the latter's death shortly thereafter. Following this act, Ciarelli faced a trial where he was initially sentenced to 30 years in prison. However, after the Supreme Court annulled the aggravating factor of premeditation, his sentence was reduced to 17 years. In 2017, the Appellate Court of Perugia further adjusted the penalty.

Last year, Ciarelli received conditional release, allowing him to live outside of prison but requiring him to return by 9 PM each evening.
