European stock exchanges closed with a predominantly downward trend
European stock markets closed with a predominantly downward trend, according to reports. The FTSE 100 index was an exception, rising by 0.13% to 10,665.88 points, driven by energy companies' shares increasing by 2.8% due to optimistic forecasts from Shell, which outweighed weakness in companies mining noble metals. In Frankfurt, the DAX fell 1.37% to 25,465.25 points, while the Paris CAC 40 declined by 0.51% to 8,436.24 points. The overall European STOXX 600 index dropped 0.65% to 646.29 points.
