Russian troops have once again launched a massive assault on Kiev, and Ukrainian forces have attacked Russian refineries.

Ukraine launched a new attack on a warehouse belonging to Russia's popular e-commerce company Wildberries, according to local Russian authorities and the firm itself. The strike occurred overnight near Vladimir region, approximately 180 kilometers east of Moscow, and resulted in a fire at the facility with one person injured, reports French news agency AFP. The attack targeted one of several logistics sites operated by Wildberries, which has been repeatedly struck since mid-July in different parts of Russia and the occupied Crimean Peninsula. According to AFP, Ukrainian forces have attacked around 20 locations linked to the company, known colloquially as "Russia’s Amazon." Ukraine accuses Wildberries, which employs thousands and plays a crucial role in Russia’s economy, of supplying drones and aiding the Russian military in its aggression against Ukraine. In addition to the attack on the Wildberries warehouse, Ukraine reportedly conducted strikes on the Arhipo-Osipovka airport along the Black Sea coast and the occupied Crimean Peninsula, both popular summer tourist destinations among Russians. Local authorities stated that at least seven people were killed and over ten injured in these attacks. In Arhipo-Osipovka, three individuals died due to falling debris from drones, while 13 others were wounded, including children, according to regional governor Veniamin Kondratyev on Telegram. He noted that the attack was aimed at civilian infrastructure. On the Crimean Peninsula, four people were killed during a nighttime assault, though the exact location of the attack was not specified by pro-Russian governor Sergei Aksyonov. Meanwhile, Russia’s Defense Ministry announced that air defenses over Russia and Crimea intercepted 131 Ukrainian drones. Over recent months, Kyiv has significantly intensified its attacks on Russia, targeting areas deep within the country. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has emphasized the need to bring the war back into Russia. Separately, Russia launched a new wave of attacks on Kiev and surrounding areas overnight, resulting in at least four deaths and multiple injuries. Zelensky reported that in the village of Puhivka in the Kiev region, three people, two elderly residents and their young grandson, were killed by six ballistic missiles fired by Russian forces. Four others were hospitalized. Additionally, Russia attacked civilian infrastructure in Kiev, killing at least one person, according to Zelensky. Russian defense officials claimed they hit facilities of a key Ukrainian arms manufacturer, Fire Point, and destroyed fuel storage that supplied the Ukrainian military. However, they did not provide evidence for these claims, according to German news agency dpa. Fire Point produces Flamingo rockets and long-range FP-1 and medium-range FP-2 drones used by Ukraine in attacks on critical Russian infrastructure. In response, Ukraine carried out a large-scale drone attack on Russia, striking refineries in southern and southwestern regions. Regional governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev reported that one of the industrial objects in the Samara region was hit by Ukrainian drones overnight, though he did not specify the target. Independent Ukrainian and Russian media, citing EFE, reported that fires broke out at the Sizran refinery owned by state-owned oil company Rosneft, which had previously been targeted multiple times by Ukrainian attacks. Fires also erupted at the Ilsk refinery in the Krasnodar region, with five people injured, according to local authorities. According to Russian defense ministry statements, air defenses shot down 397 Ukrainian drones over several Russian regions, the Azov Sea, and the annexed Crimean Peninsula. As the conflict continues, both sides show no signs of slowing their military operations, with each side accusing the other of escalating hostilities and targeting civilian infrastructure.

Ukraine appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport

Ukraine appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport

Ukraine has filed a complaint with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), seeking to block the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) decision to allow Russian athletes to compete internationally again, including at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. The IOC announced earlier this month that it would lift restrictions on Russian athletes, allowing them to participate in international competitions. Ukraine's Olympic Committee stated that it initiated the formal process, arguing that the IOC made its decision too quickly without proper verification.

Bias read (Center): The article presents the situation objectively, citing both Ukraine's complaint and the IOC's decision without overtly favoring either side. It does not include biased language or one-sided sourcing.

Why factuality (93): This article also accurately conveys that Ukraine has filed an appeal with CAS concerning the IOC's decision to lift restrictions on Russian athletes. It provides the same key details as the first article, including the timing of the IOC’s announcement and Ukraine’s claim that the decision was made

Why objectivity (88): The article maintains a largely objective tone but slightly leans toward emphasizing Ukraine’s perspective more than the first article. However, it still avoids strong editorializing or biased language, keeping the focus on the reported actions and statements rather than taking a stance.
