NZAn animal rescue charity, HUHA, is urgently desexing 42 female pigs after wild boars broke into their enclosure in Wellington. The pigs were previously owned by Coromandel farmer Stuart Edmonson, who faces charges related to the alleged murder of a pig hunter and attempted murder of another. HUHA had already desexed male pigs but overlooked the risk of wild boars being attracted to the facility. Staff caught and castrated two of the three invading boars, which are now integrated into the sanctuary. Edmonson, known for keeping wild pigs as pets, is set to face trial next year.
