Deliveries are scheduled for Saturday, August 1, and Sunday, August 2, with letters and parcels available on Saturday and only parcels on Sunday. The affected regions include Barry, Carmarthen, Dudley, Milton Keynes, Minehead, and Wolverhampton, among others. The company stated that in some local offices, delivering to all addresses may not be feasible due to factors such as high staff absenteeism, resource limitations, or other local issues. To mitigate these problems, Royal Mail plans to rotate deliveries so that each customer experiences minimal disruption. The firm also mentioned that it provides targeted assistance to these offices to resolve the issues and restore normal service levels. Royal Mail expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and thanked customers for their understanding. It was noted that receiving unwanted mail during periods of waiting for essential deliveries can be particularly frustrating. In response to this concern, Royal Mail informed homeowners that they can opt out of accepting mail for neighbors by using a special sticker placed on their letterbox. To implement this option, residents must complete an online form requesting the sticker. Once processed, the sticker will be sent to them within four working days. Upon installation, the sticker ensures that neither the resident’s mail nor their neighbor’s undelivered mail will be handled by the postman. Additional or replacement stickers can be ordered through the same online platform. If a homeowner wishes to allow their neighbor to collect their mail when they are away, they can inform the postman upon arrival.
