British singer Rod Stewart has postponed the remainder of his farewell tour following successful heart surgery. The 81-year-old artist confirmed he underwent a routine procedure involving the insertion of a coronary stent, which required him to take time off for recovery. According to his press representative, Stewart has already returned to normal daily activities and feels much better, though doctors have advised him to focus on healing over the next four weeks before resuming performances. The decision comes after Stewart had already postponed several shows earlier this year due to health issues. Most recently, he was forced to cancel a concert in Cincinnati, citing an unexpected but minor medical intervention requiring immediate attention. His team later confirmed that the singer successfully completed the stent placement, with physicians expressing satisfaction with his recovery progress. Stewart himself thanked the medical staff who cared for him during the operation and expressed disappointment at having to miss upcoming concerts. Stewart’s One Last Time tour was set to continue through early September, including six shows at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and additional performances in Mexico. However, the singer will now need to step away from the stage temporarily while focusing on regaining full physical fitness. During one show in late June, he nearly fainted and required an oxygen mask mid-performance, yet still managed to complete the set. Despite these challenges, Stewart remains committed to his music career and has no plans to retire. Speaking in October 2025, he stated he continues to enjoy performing and emphasized how passionate he is about his work. “I really love what I do,” he told People magazine. “It shows on my face.
