River Valley patisserie Pantler, known for Japanese-French desserts, to close on Aug 30

Pantler, a popular patisserie in Singapore known for its Japanese-French desserts, has announced it will close its doors by August 30 unless it finds a successor to take over the business. Co-founder Matthias Phua cited rising operating costs and a challenging environment as reasons for the decision, common issues faced by many in the food and beverage industry. The bakery will continue offering dine-in and takeaway services until its closure. Founded in 2014 by Phua and Tomoharu Morita, Pantler relocated to its current location in River Valley in 2021. Its closure joins a trend of other notable pastry businesses in Singapore shutting down, including Tarte by Cheryl Koh and Flor Patisserie.
