A dramatic rescue operation took place between the islands of Vis and Korcula, near the island of Proizd, where four dolphins became entangled in a fishing net filled with fish such as anchovies and sardines. Three of the dolphins managed to break free quickly, but the fourth remained trapped. Fisherman Hrvoje Kočko immediately jumped into the water to assist the animal. Initially, the dolphin resisted, but after Kočko gently touched its snout and recited a prayer, the dolphin calmed down and was successfully guided to safety. Dolphins and whales are strictly protected under Croatian nature conservation laws and European habitat directives, making any disturbance or harm to them illegal.
