Paraguay's reindeer, marked by a number of departures

The first day of rallying in Paraguay, part of the World Rally Championship (WRC) season, concluded on Friday with several withdrawals due to mechanical failures and accidents. French driver Finec Sami Pajari (Toyota) led the race, according to French news agency AFP. New Zealand’s Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) finished second, while Toyota’s Elfyn Evans trailed significantly. French driver Adrien Fourmaux (Hyundai) continued the rally with a 1 minute and 51 seconds gap. Several top drivers, including reigning world champion Sébastien Ogier and his teammate Takamoto Katsuta, withdrew after early incidents. Ogier, who had already suffered a serious crash in Finland earlier this month, has effectively lost his chance at securing his tenth world title. He explained that he made a mistake by hitting the curb, damaging the car, and breaking the suspension.
