Betelgeuse, located in the constellation Orion, has shown significant changes in brightness, including a notable dimming event in 2019–2020 known as the 'Great Dimming.' While this was initially thought to signal the star’s imminent supernova explosion, it was later attributed to a cloud of dust ejected by Betelgeuse. However, the new study suggests that a companion star might be responsible for other observed variations in light.
