A rare eyewitness account of a UFO sighting from 1953 has been discovered in a cardboard box containing unrelated items purchased at a flea market in southwest England. The letter, written by Barbara Graves of Durban, South Africa, describes her observation of a 'round object' hovering in the sky on March 8, 1953, which she confirmed was not an aircraft. She shared the experience with her friend Muriel Armfield in Surrey, noting that the object moved across the sky before remaining stationary for some time and eventually disappearing. At the same time, two South African Air Force officers also reported seeing unidentified aerial objects over Durban. This personal account is considered exceptionally rare, as few firsthand UFO reports from the early days of the modern UFO phenomenon have survived, especially in private correspondence form.
Bias read (Center): The article discusses a historical UFO sighting and its discovery, which is neither inherently political nor related to current events. It provides a factual recounting of the event without any apparent ideological framing or bias.
