Premeer Rumen Radev arrived in Ankara with his wife Desislava Radeva for the NATO Summit meeting. The Bulgarian premier was welcomed with honors at the airport upon arrival, following the government plane landing. The Bulgarian delegation includes Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova, Defense Minister Dimitar Stoyanov, and Chief of Defence Emil Efimov. Earlier, Radev met with Turkish President Erdogan and they agreed to freeze the contract with 'Botash' until the local elections in autumn 2027. Radev claimed he reduced tariffs under the contract but emphasized that the debt of 360 million euros will still be paid. He denied any discussions with Erdogan regarding water rights from Arda and Mesta, the concession of the Black Sea motorway, or electricity transmission through Bulgarian territory. On the first day after arriving in Ankara, Radev will attend a state reception hosted by the Turkish president. The high-level NATO meeting in Ankara is attracting global media attention.
