Na WTA turnirju v Memphisu je ruska teniška igralecka Ekaterina Aleksandrova, ki zaseda 19. mestno pozicijo na svetovni lestvici, v prvem krogu predala svojo 16-letno rojakinjo Kristino Ljutovo. Aleksandrova je zaradi izmučenosti in vročine (temperatura do 34 °C) v tretjem nizu zgrudila na tla in po zdravniškem premoru ne more nadaljevati dvoboja. Ljutova je tako osvojila prvo zmago na WTA turnirju. Na istem turnirju so se tudi drugi igralci kot so Terence Atmane in Frances Tiafoe udeležili v prvem krogu.
