A word of caution to parents: Moomin noses are at risk for cancer

The Finnish company Oikia Oy has voluntarily removed certain oat-based baby snacks from sale due to concerns over the presence of a potentially harmful substance called okratoksiini A. The affected products, branded as 'Muumi' and marketed for infants and toddlers, were found to contain levels of okratoksiini A exceeding legal limits. While the company states that consuming these snacks does not pose an immediate danger, prolonged exposure could weaken the immune system and increase cancer risk, according to Finland's Food Safety Authority. Consumers who purchased the affected batch, identified by specific expiration dates and batch codes, have been advised to stop using the product immediately and contact the company for a refund. Instructions for proper disposal of the product and packaging have also been provided.

Patukoissa on todettu jäämää kananmunasta. Virhe saattaa aiheuttaa oireita kananmuna-allergikoille.

Toinen huoli liittyy kananmunien takaisinvetoon, johon liittyy salmonellaepäily.

Yritys kertoi, että naksuissa on havaittu liian suuri okratoksiini A:n pitoisuus. Yritys on ohjeistanut jälleenmyyjiä poistamaan tuotteet välittömästi myynnistä. Ostaneet tuotetta pyydetään ottamaan yhteyttä yrityksen verkkosivuilta löytyvän reklamaatiolomakkeen kautta. Yritys pyyttää liittämään ilmoitukseen kuvan pakkauksesta. Lisäksi pakkauksessa tulee näkyä tuotteen päiväys tai eräkoodi. Naksut hävitetään biojätteenä, ja pakkaus lajitellaan kartonkiin. Naksuja ostaneet ihmiset saavat tuotteosta hyvityksen.
