On Thursday, July 16th, staff at the Home for the Elderly in Rakičan organized a celebration of the Virgin Mary’s Assumption. During this event, Bishop Janez Kozinc from the Diocese of Ljubljana visited the facility, delivering a blessing and receiving a gift from the residents. The ceremony was led by the church choir from Rakičan under the direction of Bernarda Trajbar. The event began with a speech by Nadja Hercan, deputy director for ZNO, who thanked the bishop for attending and wished everyone a pleasant gathering. On behalf of the residents, the bishop was greeted by a representative of the residents in the world of the order, Franc Turha, as noted on Facebook. At the end of the service, Veronika Matjašec thanked the bishop for the gifted statue, while Marija Mekiš handed over a gift made by the residents during occupational therapy. After the service, all gathered for a social event and refreshments, featuring stalls offering products such as honey, herbs, clothing, and more, along with entertainment on a mobile bus.
