After the terrible accident of the Urska Zigarth: "It's time to"...

The accident involving Slovenian cyclist Urška Žigart during the second stage of a race in Switzerland has raised concerns about safety measures in professional cycling. Žigart suffered a jaw fracture after falling at the end of the stage, along with other riders including Sara Casasola, Ginia Caluori, and Maya Kingma. The women’s department of the Cyclists’ Professional Association (CPA) expressed doubts about the current safety system's adequacy in protecting female cyclists. While the CPA supports the SafeR organization, which is responsible for safety in professional cycling, they argue that recent incidents indicate the need for a reevaluation of the existing model. They call for clearer structures, stronger tools, and greater authority to identify risks and prevent accidents before they occur.

Ponesrečencu so pravo pomoč nudili prvi posredovalci in reševalci Gorske reševalne službe Kranjska Gora.
