Presented book The first Croatian printer Broz Žakan

The book 'Prvi hrvatski tiskar Broz žakan' by Dr. sc. Ivan Mance was presented at the opening of the Otočac elementary school. The event coincided with the 540th anniversary of the Kolunićev zbornik, a significant manuscript heritage of the Glagolitic tradition completed in 1486 in Knežaja Vasa near Otočac, now an unknown location of the former Gacka district. The book continues Mance's multi-year research into the beginnings of Croatian printing and follows his previous work 'Kosinj i Kosinjska tiskara' published in 2023. It focuses on Ambroz Kacitić, known as Broz žakan, whose life and activities are linked to the origins of printed books in Croatia. Scholars Vladimiro Jurčević, Prof. Dr. sc. Josip Jurčević, and author Dr. sc. Ivan Mance discussed the findings of their research on Broz žakan and the Kosinjska tiskara, highlighting the cultural-historical significance of Kosinj and the beginnings of Croatian printing, as well as the importance of further research.
