Police have uncovered a narcotics warehouse in Warsaw.

In a significant operation conducted in Warsaw, Polish police uncovered a large-scale drug storage facility, seizing over 131 kilograms of illicit substances. The discovery was made by criminal investigators based in Mokotow, a district within the capital city. The operation resulted in the arrest of a 27-year-old man who has been charged with involvement in the trade of substantial quantities of narcotics and psychoactive substances. According to officials, the seized drugs have an estimated street value of around 6.7 million zlotys.

The police had been monitoring a resident of Konstancin-Jeziorna, a suburb near Warsaw, suspecting him of being linked to a group engaged in storing and distributing large amounts of narcotics within the city. Through continuous surveillance and analysis of collected information, including video footage and monitoring data, the authorities determined that the suspect used a flat in Mokotow as a warehouse for illegal drugs. This location served as a hub where he regularly transported significant quantities of prohibited substances.

During the operation, the police waited for the right moment to act. When the suspect left the building and appeared in an underground garage, officers swiftly intervened. They apprehended the man, who was found carrying hermetically sealed bags containing marijuana. A thorough search of the apartment confirmed their suspicions, revealing dozens of tightly packed bags filled with narcotics, tablets of MDMA, and processed psychoactive substances. Additionally, cash and items indicating the preparation of these drugs for further distribution were discovered.

The total amount of seized narcotics included more than 126 kilograms of marijuana, nearly three kilograms of methedrone, and almost two kilograms of MDMA. Collectively, this amounted to approximately 131 kilograms of controlled substances, which are valued at roughly 6.7 million zlotys on the black market. In addition to the drugs, the police recovered over 16,000 zlotys in cash, likely intended for future legal penalties.

The arrested individual faces charges related to participating in the trade of significant quantities of narcotics and psychoactive substances. On the request of the prosecutor, the court imposed a three-month pre-trial detention on the suspect. He could face up to 12 years in prison if convicted. The case highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat drug trafficking and the challenges associated with such operations, particularly in urban areas where illicit activities often remain hidden behind seemingly ordinary residences.
