SloveniaThe Serbian police have rescued five foreign nationals who were kidnapped in Belgrade on Wednesday and demanded a ransom of 30,000 euros. The victims included two Afghan citizens and three Turkish citizens. Three men were arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, including one born in 1997 who is a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The suspects were detained based on an order from the higher public prosecutor’s office in Belgrade. According to police reports, the kidnapped foreigners were taken to a resort house in the municipality of Vladimirci, approximately 80 kilometers west of Belgrade. Authorities suspect the suspects physically and psychologically abused the victims. Serbian state television RTS broadcasted a police video showing the interior of the resort house and a white van believed to belong to the kidnappers. The suspects face 48 hours of detention before being transferred to the appropriate prosecutor’s office.
