Sežanski gasilci so včeraj slovesno zaznamovali začetek gradnje novega gasilskega doma, kar je predstavljalo pomembno obljubo za lokalno skupnost. Projekt, ki bo vključeval prostor za shranjevanje opreme, dežurno sobo, garderobo in klubski prostor s predavalnico, bo zaviral vse od leta 1994, ko je občina Sežana prevzela obstoječi objekt v svojo last in gasilce začasno preselila v prostore nekdanje vojašnice. Naložba v višini 2,6 milijona evrov bo financirana izključno iz lastnega proračuna občine, medtem ko so gradbena dela prevzeli Komunalna Sežana. Predvidena je, da bodo dela trajala do konca leta 2027.
Dom bo predstavljal prvo fazo razvoja gasilsko-varstvenega centra, v katerem bodo prostovoljni in poklicni gasilci, Civilna zaščita, radioamaterji ter del nacionalne sheme izobraževalnega sistema gasilcev. Župan občine Sežana Andrej Sila je poudaril, da je projekt uresničitev dolgoletne obljube in pomembna okrepitev sistema zaščite in reševanja v eni izmed najbolj požarno ogroženih regij v državi. Po njegovih besedah bo v naslednji fazi v kompleksu dograjen tudi skladiščni center za Rdeči križ, Karitas in Civilno zaščito. Pomen čezmejnega sodelovanja z italijanskimi gasilci je bil izpostavljen, saj gozdni požari na Krasu ne poznajo meja.
Kot del projekta so gasilci tudi prevzeli novo vozilo za prevoz moštva in logistično podporo, ki stane nekaj manj kot 50.000 evrov. Naložba je bila financirana iz sredstev požarne takse, kar lokalno gasilsko društvo zaokrožuje desetletje postopne posodobitve celotnega voznega parka. Včerajšnja slovesnost je bila tudi priložnost za obeležje začetka gradnje, kjer so se udeležili tudi lokalni radioklub, ki bo svoje prostore najti v novem gasilskem domu.
V Stopercah so v fazi zaključka instalacijskih del in priprave na ureditev okolice gradili gasilski dom. Župan občine Majšperk Sašo Kodrič je poudaril, da so v zaključni fazi, kjer so še ostala dela, kar se tiče okolice, kot so parkirni prostori in zasaditve. Na objektu so zaključna instalacijska dela v zunanjem delu, fasada in notranjost, kjer še ni zaključena oprema. Pogodbena vrednost s tem izvajalcem je nekaj manj kot 800.000 evrov z DDV. Župan je izpostavil, da so gasilci zadovoljni, in želi, da bi ob obeležitvi 90-letnice gasilskega društva, ki bo pod okriljem Gasilske zveze Majšperk in dneva gasilca v Majšperku, prostor že tak, da ga bodo lahko predali svojemu namenu. Osnovni rok za to pa je po njegovih besedah v drugi polovici letošnjega avgusta.
V Brunšviku so zaključili veliko rekonstrukcijo ceste, ki je bila predvidena konec marca, a je šele zdaj dejansko zaključena. Župan občine Starše Stanislav Greifoner je izpostavil, da gre za državno cesto, kjer je v bistvu DRSI, kljub temu pa je to največja pridobitev za občino, ker bo ena od cest, ki so bile zelo kritične in sporne, popolnoma obnovljena. Obnovljena je tudi vsa komunala, ki leži pod cesto. Občina Starše je vložila približno milijon in pol evrov v rekonstrukcijo, kar je bilo po sofinancerskem sporazumu dobljeno skozi kredit. Brez tega ne gre, ker je to zopet obremenitev za občino za naslednjih 10 let. Investicija je vredna 4,2 milijona evrov, vključuje tudi kanalizacijo, pločnike, avtobusno postajo in druge dograditve.
