A 29-year-old truck driver was stopped by police in Poloje near Pleternica around 19:50 yesterday due to suspected alcohol influence. The police confirmed through an alcotest that his blood alcohol concentration was 2.06 promiles, which is significantly above legal limits. Preliminary tests also detected the presence of drugs in his system. The driver refused to provide blood and urine samples for further analysis. As a result, he has been banned from driving, placed in a special room at the police station until the effects of intoxicants wear off, and faces a fine of 2770 euros along with 12 negative penalty points.

The Osječko-Baranjska police detained a 45-year-old truck driver who was operating a heavy vehicle without a valid driver’s license and with 3.47 promille alcohol in his blood. The incident occurred around 9:50 PM yesterday in Bistrinci, near Belišće. As a result of driving under the influence of alcohol, the driver faces a fine of 1,320 euros.
