Pierce Brosnan has spoken out against accusations that his son is "not a baby".

Pierce Brosnan has responded to allegations that his son Paris is “not a real actor,” following comments made about the young man’s career aspirations. The 64-year-old actor, best known for playing James Bond, emphasized that he does not want to burden his son with such assumptions. In a recent interview with The Sunday Times Magazine, Brosnan stated that he encourages Paris to pursue his passion for acting while continuing to develop his skills. He added that he will not allow himself or his son to be distracted by cheap insinuations suggesting that Paris should not become an actor simply because of his father's fame. Paris, who is 25 years old, began his first experience on a movie set in 2023 while filming The Unholy Trinity alongside his father. At that time, the director expressed a desire to include both of Brosnan’s sons in the film, leading to Paris and his brother Dylan taking on roles as cowboys. Brosnan noted how much Paris enjoyed being on camera and praised his performance. “After that, he filmed the movie and did well. I told him that if he wants to be an actor, he must study and perfect himself for the job, and he wants to,” Brosnan shared. In a joint interview, Paris acknowledged the advantages that come with carrying his father’s last name. “I am aware of the privilege I have,” he said. “I’m lucky to carry my father’s surname, but I want my artistry to stand on its own. I know the privilege I have as his son, but then I have to do my part.” He also mentioned that his father always encouraged him to follow his heart. “His rule number one is: be good to yourself and to others.” When asked whether he could imagine himself someday playing James Bond, Paris replied that he would rather let his father take on the role. He expressed interest in carving out his own path rather than following in the footsteps of a legendary character. The search for a new Bond has been ongoing since Daniel Craig stepped down in 2021, with Jack Lowden currently considered a favorite for the role. Brosnan, who portrayed Bond in four films, briefly commented on the future of the franchise, saying, “I wish him all the best.” Paris is building his own artistic career beyond acting. Recently, he unveiled his first exhibition in the UK, titled Collective Energy. Speaking about his father’s support, he called Brosnan “incredible.” “He was there for me during my exhibition in London. It was amazing. He came to support me,” Paris said. Brosnan, in turn, posted on Instagram expressing pride in his son and promoting the exhibition, which explores human connection, energy, and the rhythm of shared experiences. During a trip to Sri Lanka with French cosmetics brand Clarins, Paris collaborated with the World Food Programme and Lauren Bush, granddaughter of former U.S. President George H.W. Bush, on her initiative FEED. “Working with Clarins has been incredible for seven or eight years, and the trip to Sri Lanka and work with the World Food Programme and Lauren Bush was an unforgettable experience,” he said. Despite his growing involvement in the arts, Paris has occasionally taken on minor acting roles. Brosnan previously admitted that he has tried to steer his children away from pursuing acting, citing the difficulty of the profession. “It’s just because it’s damn hard,” he told GQ in 2022. “It’s a cross you have to bear. You build and destroy yourself.”
