Peppi Longstocking is given a new life in an international animated series

The Finnish news outlet Yle Uutiset reports that a new international animated series based on the classic children's book character Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren is being developed. The project involves a collaboration between French StudioCanal, British Heyday Films, Dutch Submarine, and the Swedish Astrid Lindgren Company, which manages Lindgren's rights. Production is set to begin in October, according to Variety. The series will feature 52 episodes, each lasting 11 minutes, and will be a modernized 3D version of the beloved character. Additionally, the same production team plans to create a film adaptation based on the original classic story. Pippi Longstocking, created in 1969, has been translated into 80 languages and sold over 90 million copies worldwide.
