Watch out for all the noisy night streets: As many as 17 out of 18 vehicles failed an emergency technical inspection

In the early hours of Saturday, police in Karlovočko conducted a special inspection targeting vehicles suspected of being modified without proper certification. During the operation, 18 vehicles were subjected to an extraordinary technical examination, with 17 failing due to untested components or mechanical deficiencies. Only one vehicle passed the inspection. The operation was part of a broader preventive-repressive campaign aimed at addressing drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs, which had been ongoing since Friday night. The crackdown followed reports of nighttime disturbances in the area, prompting authorities to intensify their monitoring of traffic safety. Police officers focused on locations previously identified as gathering spots for drivers operating modified vehicles, including the ŠRC Korana premises and other areas where residents had repeatedly complained about noise complaints. This joint effort with the Croatian Vehicle Center sought to identify vehicles equipped with parts that had not undergone required testing or homologation. Among the inspected vehicles, two were found to have dangerous defects that immediately led to their removal from traffic. The remaining 15 showed more severe technical issues, though they were not taken off the road. Additionally, a motorcycle that lacked registration was also removed from circulation during the operation. The presence of such modifications poses risks to both drivers and pedestrians, highlighting the need for stricter enforcement of vehicle regulations. This initiative comes amid growing concerns over illegal modifications and unsafe driving practices in the region.
