The Pope has finished his summer vacation at Castel Gandolfo.

Pope Leo XIV concluded his summer break at Castel Gandolfo, where he had been staying since July 5th, and returned to the Vatican. Upon leaving, he greeted those gathered outside and blessed some children through the window of his car. The Pope will return to Castel Gandolfo tomorrow to participate in a prayer and brotherhood event titled 'Song of Peace,' organized by the Center for Advanced Studies Laudato si' and the Andrea Bocelli Foundation. During his 23-day stay in Castel Gandolfo, Pope Leo XIV focused on prayer, reading, and sports. He attended three Sunday Masses led by Angel Gospodov on July 12th, 19th, and 26th, 2026, and participated in two other public events. These included a lunch on July 11th in the gardens of Castel Gandolfo with 200 people, including 35 children from Rome’s diocese who are in socially vulnerable situations, and a concert held on July 18th in the courtyard of the Apostolic Palace by the Albano diocese. The Pope also made two private visits during the previous week: one to the Benedictine abbey of Montecassino on July 20th and another to the shrine of the Holy Trinity in Vallepietri and the monasteries of Saint Benedict and Saint Scholastica in Subià
