Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has promoted Asman, a proposed $20 billion 'eco-city' near Lake Issyk-Kul, as a flagship project of national development. The project is spearheaded by RedStone Group, a Kyrgyz company owned by Chinese businessman Tu Yunfei. RedStone was already selected for the project in an August 2025 draft investment agreement, which outlined a $20 billion investment in exchange for 4,015 hectares of land for 49 years.
