The first permanent exhibition at the Croatian Museum of Tourism has opened, showcasing the rich history of Villa Angioline in Opatija. This villa is considered a symbol of Opatija's development into one of Europe's most famous climate resorts and tourist destinations. The exhibition highlights the Scarp family, who built the villa, along with cultural, historical, and social events associated with it. It features authentic artifacts, archival documents, photographs, and multimedia content that provide insight into the villa’s history, its owners, and the social and political conditions that shaped Opatia’s transformation from a private summer residence to a renowned tourist destination. Modern multimedia technologies such as animated screens, stereoscopic photography, and colorized historical images enhance the visitor experience. The project was funded by the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia and the City of Opatija, which founded the Croatian Museum of Tourism.
