V Italiji je zgodaj zjutraj zgodila huda prometna nesreča v mestu Milano, kjer je v avtogram zelo več mladih oseb, med njimi tudi trije umrli. Po poročilih lokalnih medijev so gasilci in reševalci prišli na lokacijo okoli 5.30 zjutraj, ko so v kanalu pod vodo zagledali avto. V vozilu, ki je bil namenjen za pet oseb, je bilo kar devet najstnikov, medtem ko ni bil noben od njih pripet z varnostnim pasom. To je pomenilo, da so bile možnosti zaživovalnosti zelo nizek. Medtem ko so v obema primerih bili vozniki v nasprotju z zakonodajo, so se razlikovali v stopnji težave. V Zagrebu je bilo vključeno več oseb, medtem ko je v Milanu bilo v vozilu devet najstnikov, med katerimi so trije umrli.
Oba dogodka so povzročila globoko zaskrbljenost med javnostjo in organi za prometno varnost.
