Eight in distress, nine leaving for free?

The article discusses the current situation at NK Osijek football club ahead of their new season at the Opus Arena, highlighting concerns over player contracts. Nine players are entering the final year of their contracts, leaving the club with limited options—either extend their deals or risk losing them for free next summer. Sports director Kenneth Zandvliet acknowledges the urgency of resolving this issue, emphasizing that such a situation should not have occurred under his leadership. The club has already spent nearly 2.5 million euros on transfers this summer, including notable signings like Arnel Jakupović and Luke Jelenić. Additionally, young talents trained within the club, such as Anton Matković, are being closely monitored due to previous interest from other clubs, with Zandvliet expressing intent to retain him if possible.

Osijek did not increase the price, annual tickets from 50 to 2000 euros
