Landerretche will replace current Dean Jose De Gregorio, whose term ends on July 6, 2026. In the second round, Landerretche received 54.43% of the weighted votes, while Micco got 45.57%. The election had an 89.47% participation rate among FEN academics. Landerretche has been affiliated with FEN for nearly 19 years, serving as academic director of the Master’s program in Public Policy and as a professor. He previously worked as chairman of Codelco during Michelle Bachelet’s second government but returned to FEN after completing his tenure. Landerretche is a member of the Socialist Party (PS) but has expressed dissenting views within the party, including voting against the first constitutional reform process and casting a null vote in the recent presidential election between Jeannette Jara and Jose Antonio Kast.
